A High-Performing Nanostructured Ir Doped-TiO2 for Efficient Photocatalytic Degradation of Gaseous Toluene

TiO2-based photocatalysts still have some limitations such as large bandgap and low surface area, leading to efficiency in the photocatalytic degradation of VOCs limiting it use sunlight. Here we report that nanostructured Ir-doped TiO2 an efficient photocatalyst generates excellent risk-reduction material gaseous toluene. We succeeded developing a initially found VOC decomposition can be achieved our materials The was synthesized by one pot, temperature hydrothermal process with different ratios Ir doped into TiO2. It exhibited high uniformly spherical morphology 10–15 nm. Its activity for toluene up 97.5% under UV light. This enhancement could explained iridium doping which created concentration oxygen vacancy changed recombination rate photogenerated charge carriers. More generally, study indicates strategic way develop novel numerous applications.
